Former Lofa County Representative and aspirant in the upcoming general and presidential elections, Moses Kollie, has received the biggest endorsement yet in his attempt to contest the county’s senatorial seat.

Fifty-four eminent citizens of the land, among them traditional leaders, political activists, former opposition and several women organizations said they are convinced that Chief Moses Kollie can provide amazing representation in the 55th National Legislature.

The citizens maintained that, as a strong advocate of tradition blended with legislative experience, the aspirant could help to reawaken the county, end the political dormancy and prepare Lofa for a vibrant future.

The statement also expressed conviction that the former Lofa representative could pave the way for genuine reconciliation in a county threatened by frequent ethnic tension and sporadic violence.

In a social media post on May 29, 2023, the group, through its spokesman, Joseph Indupiller, a veteran political activist, expressed dismay over the alleged poor performance of the incumbent Senator, Steve Zargo.

Ndupiller claimed that the incumbent has failed the people by turning his back on their plights only to allegedly engage in rampant misdirection of the county’s meagre resources.

The statement called on sons and daughters of Lofa County to join the struggle for better representation in the Legislature, led by Chief Moses Yakpazuo Kollie.

Former Representative Moses Kollie is among Lofa County’s trusted politicians, with a credible record of performance in the House of Representatives.

His party, the Liberia People’s Democratic Party (LPDP), is in coalition with the governing Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), although it is not clear as to whether the charismatic politician will seek the leadership of his county under the banner of the CDC.

Chief Moses Kollie is widely supported by citizens craving for a balance of power between upper and lower Lofa. The Aspirant hails from the upper end.
