The Chief Executive Officer of Pauline Children Against Violence (PACAV), Pauline Smith Zaza, has disclosed that, predicated upon reality of violence affecting every segment of the Liberian society, her organization was established to address violence among the young people between ages 6—19 years old.
CEO Zaza noted that all hands are needed on desk to address the issue of violence in Liberia. According to the her, violence is a very serious matter that must be taken seriously by the government and people of Liberia. She said violence has the propensity of destroying any country, with Liberia no exception to the troubles violence brings.
Zaza said her group has been around for over five years now, but due to the lack of financial support it has been very difficult to decentralize the workings of her organization to other parts of Liberia.
According to her, PACAV was founded on the basis of seeing Liberia a violence-free nation. She said her group’s goal is to train more young people in Liberia about the harm violence poses to society.
The organization’s CEO stated that the young people of Liberia are key to the forward march of Liberia, as such more attention should be given to their wellbeing as in-coming future leaders.
Currently, the Pauline Children Against Violence (PACAV) headquarters is located in the Fendell Peace community, inside district #1, Montserrado County. She has a membership of hundreds of children from various communities in district #1, Montserrado County, and wants the government’s assistance in moving her organization forward.
