The House of Representatives has inducted the newly elected Representative of Bong County’s electoral district #2, James N. Kolleh, following his election on November 16, 2021.

The oath of office was administered to the legislator on Tuesday, February 8, 2021 by House Speaker, Dr. Bhofal Chambers.

Representative Kolleh’s induction into office follows his certification by the National Elections Commission (NEC).

The newly elected representative replaces Senator Prince Moye, who won as Senator of Bong County during the December 8, 2020 special senatorial elections.

The induction was in keeping with Rule 11.1 of the House’s Rules and Procedures.

Rule 11.1 of the House’s Rules and Procedures states, “Each member of the House of Representatives, before taking his/her seat, shall take an oath or affirmation to uphold and defend the Constitution and the laws of the country as well as to faithfully discharge the duties and functions of the office as a member of the House of Representatives.”

Making special remarks shortly after his induction into office, the new lawmaker lauded his constituents for the confidence reposed in him, the Government of Liberia (GOL) for providing funding and the National Elections Commission (NEC) for conducting free, fair elections across the country.

He promised to work with his fellow colleagues from the county in seeking the interest of their citizens.
