Alexander Cummings at court

The Political Leader of the Alternative National Congress (ANC), Alexander Cummings, says nothing like May 19, 2020 CPP Framework Document has ever existed, as claimed by government lawyers.

Cummings made the revelation in court on Monday, February 21, 2022, when he testified as a supoena witness in the case involving him and two executives of the ANC.

The AN Political Leader was requested to produce two copies of the original CPP Framework Document by the Monrovia Magisterial Court—a decision that was contested by Cummings’ legal team, but Criminal Court “A” Judge, Roosevelt Z. Willie, upheld the local court’s ruling, ordering Cummings to produce the document.

In answering to the question from government’s lead prosecution in the case, Cllr. Sayma Serenius Cephus, about the CPP original Framework Document, Cummings said the document does not exist and has never existed.

For their part, lawyers representing the interest of ANC’s Political Leader, Alexander Cummings, Cllr. Abraham Sillah, erected several legal barriers against the argument of the government lawyers, which he described as a “trap” for Cummings.

Cllr.  Sillah, based on government lawyers’ requested for the production of the CPP document, maintained that nothing of such ever existed; as such, there was no need for further questioning, quoting chapter 25.19 sub-section 3 of the Civil Proceeding Law of Liberia.
