The Director General of the Central Agriculture Research Institute (CARI), Dr. Victor Sumo, will on today appear before the plenary of the House of Representative to answer inquiries relating to the constant allegations of bad labor practice and dissatisfaction amongst employees, as well as his refusal to adhere to suggestions put forward to him by the House of Representatives.

The House of Representatives summoned Director General Sumo during its Tuesday sitting based on a communication from its specialized committee, comprising Labor and Agriculture, which was setup by the Speaker, Dr. Bhofal Chambers.

The specialized committee was instructed to visit CARI in Bong County to ascertain the situation and mitigate issues surrounding picketing, go-slow and riot actions of employees at the institution.

According to the specialized committee, the CARI boss has since remained stiff-necked not to listen to the joint committee, for which it has implored the indulgence of the plenary to invite the Director of CARI, Dr. Sumo, to address the matters of salary disparity, harmonization, bad labor practice and his refusal to make himself available to the committee to resolve the matters causing constant picketing or riots at CARI.
