  • Flashback: LNP Officers Patrol the streets

Police in Nimba County have charged and sent to court four men for allegedly gang raping a 46-year-old woman in Kinnon Town. Kinnon Town is located in Yarmien Administrative District, Nimba County.

Suspects Emmanuel Yini, Fredrick Yini, Melvin Suah and Alphanso Tokpah, all of Kinnon Town, on August 28, 2020, between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. allegedly physically assaulted and sexually abused the 46-year-old woman, whose name is withheld.

According to a LNP source, the incident occurred when the survival and the four defendants were leaving Gbonnie, a neighboring town to Kinnon.

The victim, along with the four men, were said to have ridden the same motorbike, heading from Gbonnie to Kinnon on August 27, 2020 when the men allegedly raped her and left her in the bush, until the next day, August 28, 2020, when she reported the case to the township commissioner of the area, who later informed the police.    The suspects, who during police preliminary investigation admitted committing the act, have been charged with gang rape and forwarded to the Criminal Court “E”, Sanniquellie, for court trial.
