Internal Affairs Min. Confirms 40 Ghost Names On River Gee’s Payroll

Internal Affairs Minister, Varney Sirleaf, has confirmed the existence of a major payroll scandal in River Gee County this paper has revealed.

    According to the report, the confirmation was made in a communication to River Gee’s Representative, Francis Young, following mountain pressure from the citizens.

   There has been increasing demand from River Gee citizens to audit their county’s civil servants’ payroll after it was reported that a large number of those names were unaccounted for. The minister has meanwhile confirmed the existence of 40 ghost names, but with no explanation as to what happens to their check.

   The letter disclosed that the scandal was unearthed following a constructive audit of River Gee’s payroll by a team from the Internal Auditing Agency (IAA).

   Sirleaf said the report from the IAA was carefully scrutinized by a seven-man team, with the same conclusion that there exists ghost names on River Gee’s payroll.

   The communication quotes the minister as recommending that the report be forwarded to the General Auditing Commission for further investigation and recommendation.
