President George Manneh Weah has expressed deep sorrow following the death of Jiang Zemin, former President of the People’s Republic of China, an iconic symbol of the Chinese Republic.

   According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Weah conveyed deepest condolences to Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, and through him to the government and people of the People’s Republic of China for the irreparable loss sustained on behalf of the government and people of Liberia and in his own name.  

   President Weah underscored that the late President will be remembered as a great leader under whose leadership China experience substantial developmental growth and improved relations with the outside world.

   He then prayed that the Almighty Creator will grant President Jinping and the people of China strength and fortitude as they endure this period of national mourning.
