SHARE

Angry motorcyclists in Grand Bassa County have set ablaze the only police depot at the St. John River Bridge, which is a few miles away from Buchanan.

According to information coming in from Bassa, the angry mob accused the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) officers assigned at the police depot of embarrassing one of the cyclists, which led to his drowning in the St. John River.

It is reported that Austin Davis, a motorcyclist, jumped into the river for fear of being arrested by the LDEA officers.

Davis was said to have been accused of being in possession of illicit substances by the Joint Security forces, which he vehemently denied. According to information, he was searched and the securities found a stockpile of marijuana on the bike, and so he decided to escape.

The LDEA and LNP officers chased him, and for fear of being arrested he jumped into the St. John River.

Other bike riders became furious and decided to march to the only police station in the area and burn it down.
