NEC Condemns Attack On Journalist By Electoral Supervisor
The National Elections Commission (NEC) has condemned the physical attack on journalist Diamond N. Slanger of the Spoon Communication Network by one of its temporary Electoral Supervisors in the strongest possible term.
In a press release issued today, the NEC informed the public that it has immediately terminated the services of that temporary Electoral Supervisor, Thomas Bryant.
“At the same time, the Commission apologizes to the management and staff of Spoon Communication Network for the incident, which occurred Tuesday at the Love Valley Academy, with code number 30381, located in the Airfield Community,” the release noted. The NEC reminded all of the temporary staff of its zero-tolerance policy against violence and acts that have the propensity to affect the work and image of the commission. It assured the public that it will not condone any act of violence or assault by any of its temporary staff and neither its permanent staff.
