Former Nimba County district #7 Representative, Worlea S. Dunah, has declared support for President George M. Weah’s second-term bid ahead of the 2023 general elections. Atty. Dunah said his decision to support President Weah’s re-election is based on his free tuition policy and the pavement of roads across Liberia.
According to the former Nimba lawmaker, the people of Nimba, especially district #7, are greatly depending on them as leaders to show them direction ahead of the 2023 general elections. Responding to a question as it relates to his membership with the Unity Party (UP), former Representative Dunah averred that he is still an active member of the UP. He explained that former Vice President Joseph N. Boakai openly told him that he cannot work with him and so he cannot support his ambition of becoming President of this country.
He further explained that Cllr. Tiawon Saye Gongloe, who is also contesting for the presidency as a son of Nimba, has not reached out to him for his support. According to him, he has heard in the media about Cllr. Gongloe’s ambition to contest for the presidency, but the Counselor has not reached out to him.
“Today, too, for a country with 85% illiteracy rate we see a fitting policy prescription—we see free education, from kindergarten to college! Today we see the expansion of all-feeder roads as the focal thrust of the last six years. For a country of 85% illiteracy rate, it is my generation that has grabbed the jugular of illiteracy and ignorance to declare free education—and we must join the fight! And today it is President Weah who sees illiteracy as a generational death trap and provided the urgent magic panacea—that solution that has lied unseen and unpursued in plain view for decades. Thousands of our generation who joined the brutal narcissistic heartless warlords would not have done so had they been educated and informed–my generation died of illiteracy and ignorance,” he said.
Atty. Dunah told reporters at his law firm office that he is fully prepared to go Nimba and campaign for the re-election of President George Weah. Accordingly, the former Nimba lawmaker revealed that Nimba does not belong to anyone as claimed by some self-proclaimed godfather. He said the people of Nimba need to be informed about the working policy of President Weah and his achievements during his administration. The former Chairman on the House’s Committee on Judiciary underscored that giving President Weah another six years will enable him to complete projects initiated by him, especially road projects.
