Pastor Samuel Vandy Sannoh has been inducted into office as President of the Sierra Leone Community In Liberia (SLCL). Sannoh was inducted into office by Sierra Leone Deputy Ambassador Jonathan Saffa on May 22, 2023 in Monrovia. The newly inducted President, who was elected on white ballot on May 14, 2023, is expected to run the affairs of the organization for the next five years in accordance with their constitution.

Speaking to the Hot Pepper in an exclusive interview after the induction ceremony, President Sannoh said he will ensure that members of the Sierra Leone community are united for the common good of the institution. He emphasized that in the absence of unity he will not meet his objective of delivering what is contained in his platform for the transformation of the institution. He disclosed a plan to take SLCL to the Sierra Leonean people across the country.

Sannoh vowed to make the Sierra Leone community in Liberia financially independent so as to address some of the issues individual members are faced with, without going to the Ambassador. According to him, minor issues that should be addressed by SLCL are sometimes taken to the embassy due to the lack of funding to address them, which he termed as wrong. He encouraged all members of SLCL to support his dream of making the institution financially vibrant to seek the warfare of members. President Sannoh claimed that during his five years in office transparency and accountability will be highly observed, noting that in the absence of transparency the institution will not grow financially. He emphasized that any organization that is not financially independent can easily fall because the warfare of members is not prioritized.

He applauded members of the Sierra Leone Community in Liberia for the confidence reposed in him to serve the noble institution as President.  Sannoh also praised Librarians and the government in particular for the hospitality given Sierra Leoneans who have chosen Liberia as a place of residence. He assured the government of a cordial working relationship during his administration as President.
