The National Teachers Association of Liberia (NTAL) has presented eight new motorbikes for county presidents of NTAL in Liberia.

Presenting the eight new motorbikes to eight counties’ presidents Monday, NTAL National President, Mary W. Mulbah-Nyumah, stated that the motorbikes will enhance the work of the presidents in their respective counties. The eight counties are Montserrado, Bong, Nimba, Margibi, Gbarpolu, Bomi, Grand Bassa and Grand Cape Mount, and the ceremony was held at the headquarters of NTAL in Monrovia.

Mulbah-Nyumah noted that the mobility will ensure effective and efficient reporting of issues surrounding teachers in the various counties.

She maintained that the association is doing everything possible to advocate for the improvement of Liberian teachers’ living standard.

According to her, the perception that teachers are a poor set of people is not true, noting that teaching is a noble profession that can also help to transform the society.

Nyumah underscored that the motorbikes will go a long way in strengthening the capacity of county presidents to gather relevant information concerning teachers in the various educational districts in their counties to inform the head office.

She emphasized that, due to the partnership between the association and SAAR Insurance Company, the motorbikes were made available to improve the condition of the county presidents.

Meanwhile, the Secretary General of NTAL, Dominic D. M. Suah Sr., said the motorbikes for county president swill ensure the presence of the association in every educational district across the country.

Suah Sr. said they are grateful to the dynamic leadership, especially the National President Nyumah, for her farsighted in ensuring that the county presidents get motorbikes for their smooth operation.

The county presidents, responding to the gesture, expressed thanks and appreciation to the national leadership of NTAL for making available the motorbikes to them.

They noted that the bad road condition in the counties is hampering the effectiveness and efficiency of their work, but with mobility such as the motorbikes they will be able to reach places which are difficult to access by vehicles.

They assured the national leadership of NTAL of their commitment to work for the betterment of the association.
