The Naturalization Department of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) has completed a two-day capacity building training for its officers and deputy county commanders from the fifteen political sub- divisions of Liberia.

The capacity building training is part of the department’s yearly training for officers at the LIS and assigned in the Naturalization Department.

The training took place at the headquarters of the service, held under the theme, “Enhancing a Workforce through Capacity Building for Effective Service Delivery”.

Giving an overview of the training, LIS Deputy Commissioner General for Naturalization, Cllr. Asatu Bah Kenneth, noted that the gathering is meant to remind officers and county commanders about the regulations of the institution.

Cllr. Kenneth also indicated that the training is part of LIS’s annual activities bringing together officers and other high-profile officials of the institution to remind them about the function of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS).

In brief remarks, LIS Commissioner General, Robert Budy, challenged participants to use the two-day event to broaden their understanding about the workings of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS).

He pledged the institution’s continued commitment to supporting the work of immigration officers across the country.
