105 At-Risk Youth Voluntarily Turn In For Detoxification And Rehabilitation

The Government of Liberia (GOL), through the National Steering Committee for the At-Risk Youth Program, has started the recruitment and subsequent rehabilitation process for the at-risk-youth, also known as “zogoes”

   The voluntary recruitment process, which began on Monday, August 21, 2023, has so far witnessed 105 at-risk youths being documented.

   According to a release issued under the signature of Deputy Information Minister Jarlawah A. Tonpo, who is also a member of the Technical Working Group for the at-risk youth program, the “at-risk-youth” voluntarily came from the Pelhum Building, on Center Street and around the Invincible Park communities in Sinkor.

   The release further states that, of the 105 at-risk-youth registered, 88 of them are males and 17 females. Of the 88 males, so far, 38 were taken to ES Grant Memorial Hospital, Du-Port Road, to stay for the period of 2 weeks for detoxification.
