The Chief of Protocol of the Executive Mansion, Ambassador Finda Nora Bundoo, has urged Liberians to protect the peace in Liberia. “We need to protect the peace in Liberia. The country needs to be protected at all times,” said Chief of Protocol Bundoo.

Speaking to a team of journalists recently in Monrovia, Ambassador Bundoo said President George M. Weah has played his part as a president and will continue to be with the Liberian people at all times.

Ambassador Nora Finda Bundoo, who is popularly known as “rescue mother”, said the Liberian media played a very important role in keeping the peace under the Weah government. She also commended Liberian journalists for standing with the government of President Weah during his six years of leadership.

The Chief of Protocol at the Executive Mansion told journalists that President Weah empowers many young people in all sectors in Liberia, and will continue to do so in private life.

According to her, she did not give herself the name “Rescue Mother”. “God himself got to make you, because the name Rescue Mother isn’t just an ordinary name; it must come from the heart and not the lips,” she stated.

According to her, the name Rescue Mother was not given to her for flamboyancy, but it is a name she indeed merit due to her goodwill, love for and service to humanity.

“I didn’t give myself the name Rescue Mother; it was given by those people whom God has blessed me to touch their lives. I just didn’t merit it from the Almighty God’s will and power,” she said humbly.

“We will continue to be around in Liberia. We are Liberians. We have played our part. We expect others to follow the good working of President Weah in Liberia,” Bundoo maintained.

According to her, the people have spoken and the people will be respected, just as President George M. Weah respected the democratic process by accepting the results of the 2023 presidential run-off election.
