Montserrado County’s district # 10 Representative, Yekeh Kolubah, has vowed not to vote a Unity Party (UP) candidate for the Speakership position, noting that they had issues with the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) for having a Speaker and President from the same political party; Cynthia Quinisier writes.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the Capitol Building, Representative Kolubah said the President-elect, Ambassador Joseph Nyumah Boakai, does not have any money; instead, the money he has is for the Liberian people.

“I, Yekeh Kolubah, will decide who to vote for and President-elect Boakai will not tell me what to do. Other representatives are going to sleep in hotels up to Monday but I’m not going anywhere to sleep,” Representative Kolubah disclosed.

He warned that Boakai should not interfere in the speakership election because he will not listen to him, as he is not prepared to be controlled by the President-elect.

At the same time, Kolubah accused ArcelorMittal of taking President-elect Boakai’s son, Tamba Boakai, to Dubai, and also accused Frozen Food Company of taking Boakai’s other son, Tantan Boakai, to Lebanon for an undisclosed discussion. He alleged that Frozen Food Company is a leading illegal drugs importer to Liberia.

He further accused Spoon FM/TV CEO, Stanton Witherspoon, of giving Boakai L$10 million to secure a deal of becoming the only rice importer to Liberia.

Yekeh Kolubah said he officially wrote President-elect Boakai to tell the Liberian people about his recent L$10 million donation, but his communication was rejected.
