NEC To Conduct Re-Count In 70 Precincts In Nimba County’s District #4; Schedules Re-Run In Pleebo For Jan. 25

The National Elections Commission (NEC) has informed the public that it will this Friday, conduct a re-count in 70 Voting Precincts in electoral district number four, Nimba County.

The NEC says this re-count in Nimba County is based on a mandate from the Supreme Court of Liberia. An 18-member team of technicians from the headquarters of the commission has been deployed to assist the magistrate to conduct the re-count in Nimba County.

In a related development, the National Elections Commission (NEC) has further announced that it will conduct a re-run in Maryland County’s electoral district #2, with precinct code number 27020, named Old Sodaken Town Hall, on Friday, January 25, 2024.

The Commission has informed the public that the re-run in Maryland is also based on a mandate from the Supreme Court of Liberia.

The NEC says campaign for the re-run in the Old Sodaken Town Hall precinct, Maryland County, begins today Wednesday, January 17, 2024 and ends on Wednesday, January 23, 2024.

A 12-member team of technicians from the headquarters of NEC has also been deployed to assist the magistrate to conduct the re-run in Maryland County.

Meanwhile, the Commission is inviting all stakeholders, including political parties, local and international observers and the media to witness the recount in Nimba County and to observe the re-run in Maryland County.
