Montserrado County’s district #12, Jerry K. Yogboh, has declared his asset with the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives for onward presentation to the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), describing his asset declaration as a commitment to transparency, openness and integrity in the public sector.

According to Representative Yogboh, his asset declaration is in compliance with the Amended and Restated Act establishing the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) and the Code of Conduct for all public officials, requiring all public officials to declare their assets upon taking office.

Part X Section 10.2 of the Code of Conduct for all Public Officials and Employees of the Government of the Republic of Liberia provides that members of the House of Representatives shall file their asset declaration form with the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives.

Declaring his asset to the chief clerk of the House of Representatives, Representative Yogboh stated that he was declaring his asset in compliance with the LACC Mandate and in the spirit of ensuring transparency, openness and integrity in the public sector. In response, the chief clerk of the House of Representatives thanked Representative Yogboh for declaring his asset.

The Representative’s action is also in adherence to a decision taken on January 23, 2024 by the plenary of the House of Representatives, mandating all members of the House of Representatives to declare their assets. The decision by the House of Representatives to declare their assets is a positive precedent for transparency and accountability in Liberia’s governance framework. This step is towards promoting ethical behavior and preventing corruption, which aligns with commitment by the 55th Legislature to promote good governance and public service integrity.
