Former President George Weah has expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the late Nimba County district #9 Representative, Johnson Gwaikolo, who died recently in Monrovia; Cynthia Quinisier reports.

Speaking during an interview with journalists on Thursday, March 7, 2024 ex-President Weah recounted his wonderful relationship with the former lawmaker, both as a relative and a representative from Nimba County.

According to him, the former lawmaker was a good person and not just a friend but a family man. He mourned his passing, and urged the family to take solace in the Lord during this difficult time of bereavement.

The former President said that Gwaikolo’s passing is also a great loss to the Coalition for Democratic Change(CDC) with whom the lawmaker worked collaboratively before his demise.

He expressed sadness over Gwaikolo’s death, saying that the former lawmaker’s service to country will forever be remembered.

At the same time, the former City Mayor and Secretary General of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), Jefferson T. Koijee, has mourned the death of Johnson Gwaikolo, former Representative of district #9, Nimba County, and an Executive of the CDC.

“The Nimba stakeholder passed through the ranks and file of our party’s 7th National General Assembly and played an indelible role in our success and strife as Vice Chair for International Affairs,” Koijee disclosed.

“Our party has lost a true statesman and ardent believer in our emancipation struggle. He will be missed.

“In him we have lost a friend, partisan and distinguished follower. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends and associates,” Koijee maintained.

The former statesman served in various portfolios, including President, United Methodist University, and Deputy Minister of Public Works and Foreign Affairs, amongst others.
