The former Comptroller General of the Republic of Liberia, Janga A. Kowo, has been named the Chairman of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), taking over from the Acting Chairperson, Vincent G. Williams, who has presided over the party since the resignation of Mulbah K. Morlu, Jr.

Chairman Kowo was named by the Secretary General of the CDC, Jefferson T. Koijee, at a press conference held Friday, March 15, 2024 at the party’s headquarters, following thorough consultation with stakeholders and the party’s acceptance of Morlu’s resignation.

The CDC announced that Morlu, henceforth, will be the only partisan with a lifelong membership in its executive committee (EC); as such, he will be granted permission to attend all executive committee meetings and functions but without the privilege to vote.

Morlu is expected to be appreciated and decorated by the in-coming leadership of the party for his outstanding commitment and service over the years.

The new CDC Chairman, Kowo, has served in many capacities within the CDC, including the positions of Secretary General and Vice Chair for Legal Affairs. His coronation is expected to be held soon.
