The plenary of the House of Representatives is reviewing a bill seeking to establish a community college in the City of Paynesville.

The House’s decision Tuesday, during its 3rd sitting of the extraordinary session of the first quarter, followed an induction of the proposed bill by Montserrado County’s electoral district #4 Representative, Atty. Michael Thomas.

Representative Thomas indicated that the City of Paynesville needs a Community College so High School Graduates desirous of acquiring college education or technical and vocational education, can have the opportunity to do so.

In the Montserrado lawmaker’s communication, he stated that the creation of a community college in the City of Paynesville, which hosts five electoral districts densely populated with over 400,000 inhabitants, will be in the interest of the youthful population of the nation, in regard to all aspects of their personal development and nation-building consistent with the ARREST Agenda of the government.

The proposed bill is titled, “Paynesville Community College Act of 2024”.

Following the first reading of the proposed bill, plenary voted to forward it to the Committee on Education and Judiciary for proper scrutiny and reporting back to plenary.
