The President of the Liberia Scrap Dealers Association (LSDA), Ayoubah Kamara, has threatened to file a lawsuit against a group purporting to be a part of the LSDA over what he called defamation of character.

The Liberia Scrap Buyers Association (LSBA), which the LSDA President threatened to take a legal issue with, according to him is not a part of the LSDA, noting that the group recently used the print media to accuse him of stealing millions of United States dollars meant for his entity.

He moreover pointed out that the LSBA launched a campaign and garnered four hundred signatures of individuals who are not known in the scrap industry, with the intent of seeking his removal from office.

The LSBA President, Kalifala Sanoe, confirmed over the weekend his group making statement in the print media against Kamara’s alleged involvement in what he termed misappropriation of millions of United States dollars of fundings for the LSDA.

“The President of the LSDA lives in the pockets of Indian business owners in the scrap industry, while he collects money for his own use,” Sanoe claimed.

The group further alleged that Kamara is holding onto the mantle of power for an unconstitutional term, without election being held. But Kamara sharply reacted and wrote off the allegation made against him, threatening to file a lawsuit against the LSBA.

“The LSBA and its so-called members lied with the intent to defame my hard-earned reputation. Their action has publicly defamed me and as well damaged my societal status,” Kamara observed.

Kamara, apparently frustrated, said he plans to file a lawsuit against the group to enable the public to distinguish between the truth and falsehood based on the logical conclusion of fact and reasoning.

“They are masquerading the corridor of the scrap industry with no fixed abode. No one knows them as well as the LSDA, but they are deceitful, liars, bent on defaming good people,” Kamara said.
