Montserrado County’s district #9 Representative, Frank Saah Foko, has given President Joseph N. Boakai a 72-ultimatum to dismiss key government officials, including the Minister of Commerce, Amin Modad, and the Chairperson of the Liberia Telecommunication Authority (LTA), Abdullah Kamara, for allegedly engaging in corruption.

Addressing partisans as the keynote speaker at the CDC headquarters in Congo Town on October 1, 2024, Representative Foko said if President Joseph Nyuma Boakai truly loves the Liberian people he will take serious action against these corrupt individuals in his government.

According to him, he would make a suggestion that the 55th Legislature considers impeaching President Boakai upon their return from break if he fails to act. He said the importance of holding government officials accountable is to maintain the Liberian people’s trust in the government.

Meanwhile, Foko has called on President Boakai to reinstate dismissed Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) boss, Abraham Kromah.

Foko claimed that no reason was given for Abraham Kromah’s removal, but allegedly tied to an investigation implicating President Boakai’s son, Tamba Tantan Boakai, in drug trafficking activities.

Representative Foko said that Kromah is the right man for the job, and he is calling on the President to reinstate him with immediate effect, repositioning him as the hero in the fight against drugs.

At the same time, the Secretary General of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), Jefferson Tamba Koijee, and others officials joined thousands of CDcians in celebrating former President George M Weah’s 58th birthday at the headquarters.

Koijee said the birth anniversary of the former President is to bring peace and unity to the Liberian people, and they shared school materials, foods, slippers and other valuable items with adults and children to express their appreciation to them for always standing by the party.

Meanwhile, former President Weah expressed gratitude to Liberians, especially members of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), for celebrating his birthday. He asserted, “We will come back stronger.”

The former President credited the peaceful nature of Liberians for his rise to the presidency, and reiterated his commitment to promoting peace across the country.
