The Legal Counsel at the Bukonjadeh Group of Companies has assured that Liberia is on the path of economic recovery.

Cllr. James Nippy stated that, despite the shock of the COVID-19 pandemic which affected the global economic order, Liberia is striving to revamp its economy. Cllr. Nippy made the assertion over the weekend as government is putting measures in place to stimulate the economy.

He noted that the prospects of revamping the Liberian economy under the President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s administration is high. According to him, the government is attracting much foreign investments, which reflects positive signs of growing the economy.

Cllr. Nippy urged Liberians to exercise restraints, noting that when a new government takes over the affairs of the state it takes some time for the economic situation to improve.

He pointed out that the government has made some gains over the last few months to ensure that ghost names are cleared from payrolls of ministries and agencies, and emphasized that government officials accused of corruption should be weeded out upon investigation and the establishment of the facts.

According to him, President Boakai should ensure that those who misappropriate public funds are investigated and prosecuted, adding that they should restitute the money.
