Report reaching the Hot Pepper says Education Minister, Dr. Jarso Jallah, is engaged in the unilateral appointment of county education officers (CEOs).

Minister Jallah’s action appointing CEOs clearly violates the Educational Reform Act of 2011, which states in Section 6.6.4, sub section a and b that the recruitment of the county education officer is done by the County Educational Board, and not the minister of education.

Contrary to the provision, however, Minister Jallah recently bypassed the County Educational Board to make the unilateral decision regarding the appointment of county educational officers.

The revelation was contained in a letter to the President Pro-Tempt, Nyonblee Kangar Lawrence, by River Gee County Senator, Francis Dopoh.

Representative Dopoh is requesting that Minister Jallah appear before the Senate to provide full explanation of the motive behind the violation. Investigation continues.
