MCC Environmental Manager, Sennay Carlor

The Environmental Manager at the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC), Sennay Carlor, III, has challenged Liberians to protect wildlife and the environment in Liberia.

Manager Carlor stated that protecting the wildlife ecosystem and species will go a long way in helping to preserve the planet.

Manager Carlor made the remarks Wednesday  on behalf of the Lord Mayor, Jefferson T. Koijee, to welcome the celebration of the World Wildlife Day in Monrovia, held at the Providence Island.

According to him, sustaining people and the planet are critical towards conservation of wildlife and forests in Liberia.

He noted that the need to promote and protect wildlife in Liberia should be prioritized in the development drive of the country.

Manager Carlor emphasized that the ecosystem should be highlighted at the local and national levels to ensure that system is protected.

He added that wildlife plays a significant role in human survival, and should not be taken for granted in the nation.

Manager Carlor maintained that the livelihood of people and the wildlife ecosystem should be sustained in the country, noting that Liberia is a signatory to several international conventions to protect wildlife.

The celebration brought together local and international partners, and was organized by the Forestry Development Authority (FDA) in collaboration with development partners.
