–Calls For Dedication To National Development

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has commissioned newly appointed executives of the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL), including the Executive and Deputy Governors, as well as ambassadors designated to represent Liberia in a number of countries.

The ceremony, held at the Executive Mansion, echoed the President’s commitment to national development, integrity in public service, and strengthening Liberia’s international standing.

In his address, President Boakai accentuated the critical role of both financial leaders and diplomatic representatives in advancing the country’s progress. He called upon the appointees to serve with honesty, patriotism, and unwavering dedication to the Liberian people. “We must look within ourselves and recognize that no country can be greater than its own people’s commitment to building it,” President Boakai stated.

He reminded Liberians that “Public service is not about personal gain; it is about working for the Liberian people—those in Monrovia and all across the nation. We have everything we need here to build a stronger Liberia, and if we manage our resources well, we can achieve sustainable progress.”

The President emphasized that the Central Bank’s leadership plays a crucial role in ensuring economic stability, fostering financial growth, and promoting policies that benefit all Liberians.

Likewise, he said, the newly commissioned ambassadors are tasked with representing Liberia’s interests abroad, strengthening diplomatic ties, and promoting Liberia’s bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council.

“Your role as ambassadors is not just to hold a title; it is to sell Liberia, to promote our nation on the international stage, and to represent our values with dignity,” the President declared.

The President further noted, “It is not an easy task, but I am confident in your abilities to serve with commitment and integrity.”

The Liberian Chief Executive urged all appointees to perform their duties with the fear of God and a deep love for the country, ensuring that Liberia’s progress remains their top priority.

Those commissioned are Henry F. Saamoi, Executive Governor, CBL; James B. Wilfred, Deputy Government for Operations, CBL; Dr. Al-Hassan Conteh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States of America; Dr. Brahima D. Kaba, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the State of Kuwait; J. Levi Demmah, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Belgium; Joseph F. Johnson, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Morocco; Mohammed B.O.S. Kenneth, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the State of Qatar; Ali Sylla, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Senegal; Forkpa Gizzie, Sr., Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Guinea; and Edward Wade Appleton, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Japan.
