Nigerian Defense College Team with AFL soldiers

A high-powered delegation from the Nigerian Defense College (NDC) has paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of National Defense and the Armed Forces of Liberia as part of an annual study tour of the college.

The Team, headed by Brig. Gen. Aniedi Effiong Edet, Director, Coordination (D COORD), comprised of 40 members from the Academic Staff, Directing Staff and participants of the Nigeria Defense College, mostly senior military officers of the ranks of colonels/equivalent.

The delegation’s tour is under the theme, “Fourth Industrial Revolution and National Development in Liberia: Skill Acquisition in Perspective”.

Welcoming the NDC delegation to the Ministry of National Defense, the Deputy Minister for Administration, Tibli Olandrus Dickson, Sr., recounted the relationship subsisting between Liberia and the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and praised the Nigerian government for the level of assistance given to Liberia dating as far back to the Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group (ECOMOG), training of AFL personnel and mentorship, amongst others.

He said the Ministry of National Defense was excited to receive the delegation from the Nigeria Defense College.

For his part, Brigadier General AE Edet, said the purpose of their mission to Liberia is to conduct a study that will prepare the participants to develop high level policies while doing strategic assignments, and at the same time expose the participants to a new geographical and environmental location outside Nigeria. He thanked the Ministry for the level of cooperation between the Armed Forces of Liberia and the NDC over the years.
