Transformative Youth of Liberia (TYOL) Vocational Training program held its first graduation ceremony on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the Pursuit School of Excellence, Block “A”, Natt Ballah community, district #4, Paynesville.
Speaking to the Hot Pepper during the graduation, the CEO of Transformative Youth of Liberia (TYOL) Vocational Training program, Ruben Wonpleh, said TYOL is a youth-led organization dedicated to empowering young people across Liberia through sustainable agriculture, vocational training and access to quality educational opportunities.
“We believe that every young person carries immense potential, and our mission is to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity by building resilient, self-reliant communities,” CEO Wonpleh stated.
He encouraged the students to use the knowledge and skills acquired to create opportunities, uplift others and contribute to a brighter future for Liberia.
According to him, the milestone reflects the vision of TYOL: to equip young people with practical skills, build resilience and inspire them to become agents of change in their communities.
Ruben Wonpleh said the vision is rooted in hope and action and the unshakable belief that young people are the backbone of Liberia’s future.
At the same time, the General Manager, Roland Zogbay, said they remain committed to empowering young people across Liberia with practical employable skills that promote self-reliance, entrepreneurship and community transformation.
He said the vocational training program continues to offer hands-on courses in catering, electricity, plumbing, tailoring, cosmetology, computer science, interior decoration, soap making, tie-and-dye and advanced catering.
In remarks, the keynote speaker and Director of Civil Service Reform and Policy, Civil Service Agency (CSA), Mulbah K. Yorgbor, told the graduates that the ceremony is not only about graduation but to become creators of opportunities for others in the communities.
Yorgbor encouraged the students not to sit but to use the opportunity wisely, and said women are the best in making decisions in everything they do.
He also promised the students that he would sponsor five persons during the next circle.
