The First Judicial Circuit, Criminal Court “A”, Temple of Justice, has scheduled Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. for the ruling on a motion to suppress evidence in the Capitol Building arson case.
Presiding Judge Roosevelt Z. Willie is expected to render a ruling that could determine whether key evidence will be admitted or excluded in the up-coming trial.
The motion was filed by the defendants, including J. Fonati Kofa, Dixon W. Seboe, Jacob C. Debbie, Kivi Bah (alias Kaba), Jerry Pokah (alias Tyrese), Stephen M. Broh, John Nyanti, Patience Bestman, Grace Johnson, Abu Kamara, Christian Kofa, Eric Susay, Thomas Isaac, Etheridge, and others yet to be identified. The motion seeks to prevent certain evidence from being used in court, citing concerns over their legality and relevance.
The Republic of Liberia, represented by the Ministry of Justice, is the respondent in the matter.
The accused face a range of charges, including attempted murder, criminal mischief, criminal conspiracy, criminal facilitation, release of destructive forces, reckless burning and explosion, criminal solicitation and recklessly endangering others.

The Notice of Assignment, signed by Gabriel J. Smith, Clerk of Court, was issued on September 17, 2025, commanding all parties and counsels to appear for the hearing.
