Montserrado County’s district #10 Representative, Yekeh Kolubah

With the votes of twenty-four for and seven against, the plenary of the House of Representatives have suspended   Montserrado County’s district #10 Representative, Yekeh Y. Kolubah, for consistently insulting the office of the Presidency.

It can be recalled that since 2018 the Montserrado County lawmaker has been deliberately abusing President George M. Weah and members of the Executive.

Speaking in plenary on Thursday, Nimba County’s district #5 Representative, Samuel G. Kogar, noted that the suspension of Representative Kolubah was long overdue because this is the third letter of complaint against Representative Kolubah.

According to Rule 48.7 of the House’s Standing Rules, “The House may, according to the circumstances and degree of breach, take the following measures: give an oral warning; give a written warning; suspend a member for not more than 30 days of meeting, or stop the payment of salary and allowances for him/her for the days of suspension.”

The suspension of Representative Kolubah comes in the wake of a communication from Representative Thomas P. Fallah bringing to the attention of the House of Representatives the direct and deliberate egregious behavior of the district #10 lawmaker consistently exhibited against the Liberian Presidency on a daily basis.

Speaking in plenary, Representative Johnson Gwaikolo noted that the Chamber of the House of Representatives is a sacred place and, as such, members of the House of Representatives should conduct themselves in a form and manner that they will be respected.

However, when Representative Kolubah was given the floor to speak on his constant insult at the Presidency, he said he did not have anything to say.
