President Joseph N. Boakai on Thursday commissioned the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Samuel Stevquoah, along with 12 other officials of his government to serve with diligence.
President Boakai urged the officials to work assiduously, noting that appointment requires delivery and transparency.
He charged them to be proactive without corruption in serving the Liberia people, observing that corruption undermines good governance.
The program was held at the Executive Mansion’s Parlor. The family members of the officials commissioned, well-wishers, foreign guests, ministers and directors of ministries and agencies attended the program.
President Boakai charged the commissioned officials to be tolerant and corruption-free. He said he is not recruiting criminals, rather potent and people of integrity to perform.
On behalf of the commissioned officials, Minister of State, Samuel A. Stevquoah, thanked President Boakai for the government’s excellent performance in two years’ time, and for choosing them to work in his administration.
The Minister of State for Presidential Affairs said the President passed through tough times to leave Lofa County and to come Monrovia to go to school—to attain the good leadership he now exercises, which he said is putting Liberia among the comity of nations.
He however called for a silent of moment for the fallen Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Sylvester Grigsby, who died a few months ago.
