The Liberian Senate has cited top officials from the Ministries of Education, Health, Finance, and the Civil Service Agency to appear before the “Committee of a Whole” on March 10, 2026.
The move is in response to concerns raised by Gbarpolu County Senator, Amara M. Konneh, over the plight of volunteer teachers and health workers who remain unpaid despite budget allocations for their sectors.
The summoned officials include Ministers of Education Dr. Jarso M. Jallah and Dr. Louise Kpoto, Finance Minister Augustine K. Ngafuan, and Civil Service Agency Director General Josiah Joekai.
Senator Konneh is also pushing for the reintroduction of Civics in schools, citing its importance.
