Providence Baptist Church

The Senior Pastor of the Third Providence Baptist Church, Logan Town, Rev. S.E. Emmanuel Ward, II, said the church is not supporting the group of Baptists who have taken church matters to court.

Rev. Ward said his church is totally against taking church matters to the court for settlement. He said the group that took the matter to court should have referred the case to the Deacon Board of the Liberia Baptist Missionary and Educational Convention, instead of the court of law.

The Baptist preacher is appealing to the group of Baptist pastors who took the case to the court to withdraw it for home settlement.

It can be recalled that recently a group of Baptist pastors requested the President of the Liberia Baptist Missionary and Educational Convention, Rev. Dr. Olu Menjay, to stop operating as President of the Convention because his tenure has expired.

In other development, Rev. Ward has expressed appreciation to the Ambassador to the United States of America, George W. Patten, and the church’s Deacon, Koon T. Sneh, Sr., for the donation of a huge consignment of rice to the church. He said the rice has been distributed to the entire membership of the church during this state of emergency.

Rev. Ward made the statement on Sunday at his church after a regular Sunday worship service in an interview with the Hot Pepper.

The Sunday sermon was delivered by the Pastor of the Gardnersville Church of Christ, Rev. Jawee M. Saywon. Rev. Saywon took his text from Deuteronomy 33:5—6, and Matthew 2:1—11, urging Liberians to put aside their differences and worship God with commitment, honesty and sincerity for God’s protection.

Speaking on the theme, “Be Careful With Youth Star”, Rev. Saywon said God has given each individual a star to shine, but the star has been blocked due to the wickedness of man.    He said when Jesus was born, there was a star which the people followed to find His birth place. He noted that the time has come for Christians to do away with gossiping and undermining.
