AFL To Begin Pre-Recruitment Training For Females

The Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) has disclosed that it will shortly begin a pre-recruitment training for only female Liberians. The pre-recruitment training, according to the Ministry of National Defense, will take place from Monday, November 22, 2021 to Wednesday, December 13, 2021 at the Barclay Training Centers (BTC) in Monrovia. 

   According to a press release, “The eligibility criteria for participation in the pre-recruitment training is to be a citizen of Liberia, a high school graduate or an equivalent of vocational education from an accredited vocational institution or have a first degree and above, fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 Virus, between the ages of 18—35 years and, professionals, at most 40 years of age, and cleared of any human right abuses or violations.

   “Please be cautioned that nobody is allowed to pay money, exchange goods and services or whatsoever for recruitment. Participation in the pre-recruitment training is voluntary and free, just meet the requirements as considered above.”

   The release continued, “Please note that the pre-recruitment training exercises are intended only for female candidates residing in Montserrado County while the national recruitment drive will kick-off later.

   “Also, there will a Nationwide Recruitment Drive. The national recruitment drive is expected to take place in four geographical regions of the Republic of Liberia. Each geographical region has a recruitment center: Central Region–Montserrado, Grand Bassa, and Margibi counties—with recruitment center at the Barclay Training Center; Western Region: Grand Cape Mount, Bomi and Gbarpolu, with recruitment center at Tubmanburg City, Bomi County; Northern Region: Lofa, Bong and Nimba counties, with recruitment center at the Gbarnga Sports Stadium in Bong County; Southern Region: Grand Gedeh, River Gee, Maryland, Grand Kru, Rivercess and Sinoe counties, with recruitment center at the Zwedru Multilateral High School in Grand Gedeh County.

   “The Ministry and the AFL is considering and prioritizing the recruitment of persons with professional civil specializations in medical specialties/practitioners, engineers of all categories, lawyers, maritime professionals, agriculturists, information technology specialties, band/music and morticians.”
