Ahead of Campaign Opening: LNP Concludes Dialogue with Community Leaders, Community Watch Forums

The Joint Security under the watchful eyes of the Police Inspector General, Patrick Toe Sudue, met with community leaders of the seventeen electoral districts of Montserrado County and the Community Watch Forum (CWF) on July 31, 2023 at the headquarters of the Liberia National Police (LNP).

   This successful dialogue was held under the theme, “No To Violence And Yes To Peace “.

   The session was intended to discuss issues relating to the cooperation, coordination and collaboration between the Joint Security, community leaders and the Community Watch Forum (CWF) in the fifteen political subdivisions of the country as it relates to the peaceful conduct of the October 10, 2023 general and presidential elections.

   The Joint Security used the meeting to reaffirm its commitment to work with all stakeholders in ensuring the peace and security of the state is guaranteed under the peaceful conduct of a non-violent election.

   The community leaders and the Community Watch Forum (CWF) expressed their appreciation to the Joint Security for their recognition and promised to work with the Joint Security so as to identify early warning signs to prevent violence during and after the elections.

   The Joint Security’s engagement continues today with the Inspector General of Police and other hierarchies of the Joint Security dialoguing with the media community through the Press Union of Liberia.
