The co-administrator of the Zena family land property has threatened to remove more than 200 illegal land occupants from Zena Hill, Brewerville.
According to the administrator, Anthony Cole, more than 250 people are settling on the Zena family property in Zena Hill, without any legal document from the Family.
Administrator Cole noted that they have refused to regularize their status with the family through the administrator but rather threaten his life on a daily basis.
Administrator Cole made the disclosure over the weekend in Zena Hill, Brewerville.
He alleged that some of the illegal occupants on the land have threatened to kill him. He stated that they are trying to evade justice as a writ of arrest has been issued for them to produce their legal documents for occupying the land.
According to him, they have resisted the Brewerville Township’s court order and arrest, but are instigating violence in Zena Hill on the land issue.
Administrator Cole indicated that the Liberia Land Authority (LLA) has tried to intervene to resolve the situation but they have no legal document to their claim of their ownership of the land they are occupying.
He pointed out that if they should remain on the land they have to purchase the land from the Zena family through the administrator, who has all legal documents relating to the Zena family land property on Zena Hill.
He maintained that if they refuse to purchase the land rightfully the land administrator will use the legal step to remove them from the land, adding that they are occupying the Zena family property illegally.
Administrator Cole underscored that Liberia is a country of law, and Liberians should do the right thing to obtain land rather than using violence to occupy other people’s properties.
