Amb. Neufville Endorses Pres. Weah’s Second-Term Bid

As President George M. Weah is being engulfed with consistent endorsement for the run-off election, Montserrado County’s district #8 defeated Representative-candidate, Rufus Neufville, has pledged his unflinching support for his second-term victory.

Politician Neufville, who contested on the Collaboration Political Parties’ ticket in the October 10 election, was defeated by Prince Toles.

Considering the CPP’s decision, which just endorsed President Weah for the second term, Neufville said his decision is in line with the CPP’s.

The CPP endorsed President Weah for maintaining the peace and the exercise of good governance in the second term that will promote the rule of law, inclusive government, and so on.

“I, Ambassador Rufus Neufville, endorse the reelection bid of President Weah and I will vote him on November 14,” Neufville said. “He maintains the peace in the absence of UNMIL peace troops.”

He observed that President Weah is the only leader who conducted election without foreign security intervention, and the first round ended peacefully.

“I don’t want to mention development projects achieved and those on-going,” Neufville noted. “This time I want the President to have everyone on board, Unity Partisans, Liberty Partisans, CDCians, etc.”

The CPP Representative-candidate said he has received numerous calls nationwide and worldwide for the decision.

“I firmly support President Weah 100% for the second term because I believe in him,” he said.

The CPP set up an executive committee which met with President Weah and presidential-candidate Joseph N. Boakai to determine whom to endorse.

According to Neufville, the executive committee, along with majority members, chose President Weah over Boakai, who is Unity Party’s standard bearer.

Neufville, who is an original member of the Liberty Party (LP), which collaborated with the Alternative National Congress (ANC), said he sees light and a good future in President Weah for the country and its citizens, citing the President’s six-year achievement in a loud tone.

Neufville, a radical, endorsing President Weah is a clear manifestation that President Weah’s second term victory is inevitable, according to people familiar with his radical stance over the years.
