Montserrado County’s district #8 Representative Aspirant, Isaac K. Krah, has underscored the need to prioritize youth empowerment in technical and vocational education in Liberia.
Aspirant Krah stated that the growth and development of the people of any country that does not prioritize technical and vocational education for the youth will be slow paced.
Aspirant Krah made the assertion recently when he addressed disadvantaged youth in the Soniwein community, central Monrovia.
According to him, empowerment of disadvantaged youth with technical skills will go a long way in preventing them from illicit drug abuse.
He maintained that empowerment of the people is critical for any major transformation of a community, district, county and country at large, and Liberia is not an exception.
Aspirant Krah emphasized that if a district representative is not concerned about the empowerment of the people then there is no need to maintain him at the National Legislature in the pending general and presidential elections.
He noted that a representative of the people should prioritize the growth and development of the people, particularly the youth, but claimed that the incumbent Representative of district #8, Moses Acarus Gray, hardly interacts with the district’s dwellers over the years.
He urged the district’s residents not to be carried away by empty promises to elect individuals who have no vision for the district and the people; rather, they should rally their support for him to transform the development of the district and the people with tangible development initiatives.
Aspirant Krah assured the people of district #8 that his representation of them will not be about only the welfare of individuals at the National Legislature, but will advocate for the welfare of the people through their oversight responsibility to the Executive Branch of government to perform with the budget allotted for each district in the National Budget for the fiscal year.
He noted that the current lawmaker of the district has refused to champion the growth and development of the people and the district over the years, but now wants to give handout in the form of little cash or rice to the people for their vote come October 10, 2023.
Aspirant Krah emphasized that they should not allow politicians to continue to fool them and keep them in abject poverty. He reiterated that this is the time to make the right decision in the interest of their children’s future.
