The management of the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) has officially written authorities of the Liberia National Police (LNP) to conduct a forensic investigation into the leakage of sensitive and confidential information of the Government of Liberia (GOL) and its partners to unauthorized persons.
Addressing a major conference on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, the Director of Public Affairs at the LWSC, Nimpson Todd, said the decision stems from the fact that the airwaves and social media have been displaying and discussing sensitive information originating from within the LWSC premises.
Todd said this information, they understand, emanated from the Deputy Managing Director for Finance, Sensee J. Morris.
He further said that the act undermines the credibility of the entity and the Government of Liberia (GOL), noting that management views this breach as a major financial and reputational threat to LWSC and the government.
“The leak of confidential information to the press and members of the opposition—management will not take it lightly. This act undermines the government’s stride to improve the lives of our people,” Todd noted.
