The Credit Manager of Afriland Bank, Youssouf Barry, has called on the youthful population to preserve their integrity as it is an important trait in the struggle for success. He underscored that the country is fighting corruption at every level, and that this was so because individuals who ascend to positions of public trust failed to perform their duty with integrity and honesty.
Barry entreated the youths to consider integrity at every stage of their lives and to work so honestly that their work may literally speak for them.
He made the statement on Thursday, January 27, 2022 on Front Street when the Movement with Integrity for National Development (MIND) honored and certificated him as the Most Outstanding Private Servant of the Year, 2021.
“The Movement with Integrity for National Development (MIND) presents this Certificate of Honor to you for your numerous contributions to our country, with the banking sector being your prime focus for several years as credit and commercial manager, your contribution to capacity building and infrastructural development are worthy of recognition and honor. We wish to extol you for your overwhelming commitments and sacrifices made to our nation,” the civil society movement’s certificate to Barry read.
At the ceremony marking the integrity movement’s annual edition of the award initiative, the Executive Director of MIND, Sekou Sonii, disclosed that the institution scrutinized and vetted a number of persons in various categories for its annual awards, and by merit Barry was chosen for the Most Outstanding Private Servant of the Year award based on his work and commitment during the year under review.
Sonii congratulated the honoree and urged him to do more in his future endeavors, as his activities were being monitored and graded.
Receiving the award, Youssouf Barry thanked Sonii and the entire Executive Committee of MIND, and congratulated them, too, for their level of work at the organization. He said he was not aware that there were individuals monitoring his activities, but expressed joy that his work has been graded in a positive manner.
He dedicated the award to his wife, children and the Fula community, indicating that they have been his backbone for standing strong and working hard.
The program was attended by members of the Fula community, executives of MIND, well wishers and sympathizers of Barry and the media.
