The Bible Way Church of Liberia is expected to hold its 65th annual convention, under the theme, “Repent: The Wrath of God Will Surely Come”, Isaiah 13:6—11.
This was disclosed by the Bishop of the church, Aloysius N. Nimely, Sr., when he delivered his New Year’s Day sermon at the Guiding Star Temple Church, New Kru Town, on Sunday.
Bishop Nimely said this year’s convention will be held by the Montserrado District, and will take place at the Guiding Star Temple. He said the convention is expected to bring together more than 500 delegates and observers from all the fifteen political sub-divisions of the country. He noted that the convention is intended for the executives of the denomination to review the progress and challenges of the church and plan for the new year.
In his New Year’s sermon, Bishop Nimely spoke on the theme, “Standing on the Holy Ground”, Joshua 5:13—15, and urged Liberians to use the new year to put aside their evil plans and put God first, in an effort to change their living standard.
According to him, to live on holy ground means one should destroy the things that embarrass his life, emphasizing that the Bible Way denomination does not accept people who are bent on causing confusion and disunity among people.
The Pentecostal prelate has meanwhile urged members of Bible Way Church to go out and evangelize, in order to win lost souls, in accordance with the Holy Bible.
