The dismissed Deputy Director for Rural Broadcasting, Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) has confessed that he lied on President George M. Weah sometime ago, accusing him of having extra marital affairs with his wife.
Boima accused the President and wrote a letter of resignation that would have taken effect at the end of December 2020, but unfortunately the President sacked him with immediate effect.
Boima described his dismissal as the President’s way of disregarding his marital relationship and a wanton disrespect for his underman. He later insinuated that plain-clothes security officers were tailing him and expressed fear for his life. Up to now, it is not yet clear to many, including the Hot Pepper, as it relates to the whereabouts of Boima.
His wife, Williametta Boima, tried effortlessly to exonerate herself from her husband’s false allegation on social media platforms, but it all went futile.
However, on Thursday, January 14, 2021, Boima hosted a live video on Facebook, in which he appealed to President Weah and his wife for lying on them. According to him, he got furious when President Weah appointed Estella Liberty-Kemoh as Director-General of LBS, replacing Ledgerhood Rennie, whom he saw as a father and a mentor.
Boima stated further that he jokingly told Rennie, now Minister of Information, that leaving him in the hands of the two girls (Tete Gebro and Estella Liberty-Kemoh) would not augur well for him.
He revealed that the news of his wife having an affair with President Weah came through President Weah’s security, but after he thoroughly investigated the matter he realized that it was all false and misleading, and was being used by some individuals to get him off his position and bring him down to where he is today.
He apologized to his wife for putting her through shame and embarrassment, and appealed to President Weah to forgive his naivety.
“Mr. President, I sincerely apologize to you. This is from my heart. I am appealing to you; I know how difficult this will be. I kindly beg you to find a place in your heart to forgive me. Find a space in your heart to forgive me,” Boima sought for forgiveness from President Weah.
He continued, “Williametta, I sincerely apologize to you. It is better I do this now, because the Bible says to me that if I want to go to another level I have to correct the mistakes that I made in the past and never repeat those mistakes again.”
He also asked the public to forgive him for lying to them and making them to believe that the President sacked him only because of his wife.
