A group of disenchanted CDCians, who walked in the office of the Hot Pepper on Wednesday, have vowed to make the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) ungovernable if Chairman Mulbah Morlu’s mandate makes them jobless in the pending democratic processes.
“CDC will shortly hold convention for elected positions in the party, ranging from national and county officials to conventions for candidates for the legislative seats,” Chairman Morlu said during a press conference held at the party’s headquarters. “Even my position as Chairman is for seize, only the position of the standard bearer of the party would be reserved,” Chairman Morlu stated.
“It does not matter who you are, nobody will bypass the process; that is why even me will subject myself to the process. We will set up a committee to lead that process,” he added.
However, a group of aggrieved CDCians who gaited in the office of the Hot Pepper said the Chairman’s statement is diabolical and a clever attempt to put them out of job because they are holding positions without salaries and hope to get employment after the first batch, which is in position.
“It is true we are in a democratic world and we need to be tested through election, but some of us do not have jobs and our co-officials are not working, but hoping that after 2023 elections we may get job, and this is why we are still keeping the courage in our respective positions,” the dissatisfied group said, pursing their lips. “Now election, where are we taking money from to sponsor election or campaign?
“This is how you want to kick us out of the party? The new group that may come after the election will not put pressure on the party that they need job since they are elected party officials and they need to help their people in the respective areas?” they wondered.
Their ID cards, to expire in 2024, in their possession, the group said if they lose the election what will be the outcome of the identity?
“Why can’t this new group take on from us after 2023 and work for 2030? If anything goes wrong, we may likely leave to get comfort at other parties,” they said.
