The Center for Transparency and Accountability in Liberia (CENTAL) on Monday, November 28, 2022 paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication (MOPT).
The objective of CENTAL’s visit to the ministry was to identify possible areas of collaboration and partnership in anti-corruption and integrity building efforts in Liberia.
The integrity institution described the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication as a major stakeholder in the fight against corruption in Liberia, particularly through its mail and express delivery sector which, according to CENTAL, is an important driver in the global economy and represents one of the largest employers in the world.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Post and Telecommunication, Cllr. Cooper Kruah, officials of the ministry and the CENTAL delegation.
According to a CENTAL communication to the MOPT, they are in the third year of implementing the National Integrity Building and Anti-Corruption project, with support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) in Liberia. The communication disclosed that the initiative targets seven counties, with an overall objective of creating a corruption-free Liberia, where citizens act with transparency and integrity in all their dealings.
