Chief Cyril Allen: “Opposition Has Done Nothing To Earn Victory In 2023”

Chief Cyril Allen

A member of the Governing Council of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), Chief Cyril Allen, has blasted members of the opposition for doing nothing for themselves and the people of Liberia, noting that those ganging up against the CDC have done nothing to earn victory in the 2023 elections.

Giving his take on the 2023 general and presidential elections, Chief Allen denigrated the opposition bloc for not demonstrating any capacity that will prove to the people that they are capable to do anything for them when they are entrusted with leadership.

“We can see in the forth days of our administration that no opposition group has demonstrated any capacity to be able to do anything for the people of this country, because they have done nothing for themselves and their partisans. They are just bickering about what is not happening in government.

“What the government is not doing is no excuse for you to ascend the political ladder; you must demonstrate a lot more than that,” Chief Cyril Allen noted.

He bragged that the CDC is a formidable political force, and that they are gearing up for whatever eventualities that may come.

He however expressed a descending opinion in President George M. Weah taking a huge crowd on his nationwide county tour. In his opinion, taking that huge number with him was not the way to go. “I said very clearly during the President’s visit to the counties…you are not going there to carry people; you are going to meet people. Deal with the people at that level,” he maintained.

At the end, he termed the President’s tour as a big success with glaring dividends. He agreed that it was good that the President went along with authorities from the ministries of Education, Internal Affairs, Health, Finance, and so on, so that they, too, can hear and know the things that the administration is suppose to give priority to in order to improve the lives of the people.
