The Peter W. Sayklun Orphanage Home, operating in Kakata, Margibi County, over the weekend received a huge consignment, including copy books, pencils, popcorns, colorings, play toys and other valuable items.
Presenting the items, Humanitarian Edressa Massaray said the donation is intended to give back to society, thereby acknowledging the African Youth Peer Review Committee (AYPRC) for standing with the orphans, especially in the heat of the Covid-19. He described the children as “future generation”.
Massaray said it is important to always appreciate people’s efforts whenever they render good, particularly to children. He added that he is committed to providing more to the orphanage home as Liberia continues the fight against Covid-19.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the orphanage home, the Head of African Youth Peer Review Committee (AYPRC), Jeddlee Stephens-Kinnii, lauded the philanthropist for the kind gesture, terming it as timely and commendable.
The AYPRC boss further noted that the items donated are among other challenges that the children face at the orphanage, and the gesture will forever be remembered by the Youth Peer Review Committee.
African Youth Peer Review Committee is a non-profit organization whose mission is to foster and develop youth capacity building through advocacy, constructive dialogue, monitoring, technical and vocational training, leadership initiatives, active participation, innovative approaches to maximizing opportunities for Africans across the continent.
