His Honor Scheaplor R. Dunbar, Assigned Judge, Sixth Judicial Circuit Court, Civil Law Court “B”, Montserrado County, has ordered Hans Armstrong arrested and brought before the court with immediate effect.
If arrested after working hours, Judge Dunbar said he should be kept in any police custody until the next working hours, to be brought forthwith before the court.
Armstrong is being pursued to show cause for his failure to comply with the court’s ruling in the case Republic of Liberia, plaintiff, and Hans Armstrong, respondent.
In a Writ of Arrest issued on Armstrong on Monday, December 20, 2021, Judge Dunbar instructed the sheriff of Montserrado County and/or his deputy, “You are hereby commanded to arrest the living body of Hans Armstrong, respondent, and have him brought before the Sixth Judicial Circuit, Civil Law Court ‘B’ for Montserrado County, Republic of Liberia, sitting in its December term, A.D. 2021. If arrested after working hours he should be kept in any police custody until the next working hours, to be brought forthwith before this honorable court immediately upon his arrest to show cause for his failure to comply with the court’s ruling.
“you are further commanded to arrest the above named defendant and have him brought forthwith before this honorable court and file in this court your returns to this Writ of Arrest as to the manner and form of its service and file same in my office immediately upon executing this court’s order of arrest.”
This is not the first time a court of competent jurisdiction in the country has ordered the arrest of Armstrong for coming into conflict with the law.
It can be recalled that several months ago, Criminal Court “A” Judge, Roosevelt Z. Willie, issued a writ of arrest for the controversial British national and others for their failure to follow the legal procedure in obtaining subpoena from the court, thereby bringing the court into public ridicule.
