The Civil Society Network of Liberia (CSNL) has described as deceptive and blackmailing a campaign against Andrew Anderson by a lady, Lorraine Dunn, believed to be his former wife.
The CSO group termed Lorraine’s allegation of domestic violence against her former husband as not only false and misleading, but one intended to dampen his hard-earned character in her “naked quest to repair her damaged reputation”.
In a release issued Tuesday, October 25, 2022, CSNL said, “Recently, Lorraine embarked on a ‘shameless’ media campaign against Mr. Anderson in a fruitless effort to cover up her extramarital affairs, which led Anderson to divorce her. In her media outburst and complaint to court, Lorraine accused Mr. Andrew Anderson of preventing her from seeing her children, and that he assaulted her multiple times when she went to see her kids at his house on October 20, 2022, at 7:30 p.m.”
The Civil Society Network of Liberia stated that its investigation has revealed that “Lorraine’s social media outburst is a scheme used to shield her blatant violation of the court’s order as to how and when she sees her children at Mr. Anderson’s house, as well as her constant harassment and insults towards him”.
Recalling what it called one of Lorraine’s deceptive tricks that led to the termination of her marriage with Anderson, the CSN narrated, “Some time ago Lorraine lied to her husband at the time (Andrew Anderson) that she was going to Bong County for a church conference, but it was later discovered that she had travelled along with her boyfriend to Accra, Ghana. Mr. Anderson then followed them to Ghana, where the Ghanaian police declared her a missing person based on his complaint. She was discovered and sent her back to Liberia, following which Mr. Anderson took Lorraine’s boyfriend, named Habakkuk Watara Sackor, to court for US$150,000 in damages. The boyfriend was found guilty. Afterwards, Lorraine complained to the court that she was being denied access to her children, so the Civil Law Court ruled on a schedule as to how and when she would see and interact with her children at Mr. Anderson’s House.”
The Civil Society Network of Liberia revealed, “Contrary to the court’s set schedule of second and last Saturday of every month for her to see her children at Mr. Anderson’s house, Lorraine went to Mr. Anderson’s house outside the schedule, created scenes, and attempted to forcibly take possession of the children. In that process, she intentionally inflicted wounds on herself to falsely implicate Mr. Anderson in assaulting her.”
The group wondered why Lorraine would mislead the public when evidence in its possession shows that a divorce between her and Andrew Anderson was granted by the Civil Law Court on October 4, 2022 for acts of incompatibility of temper arising from her multiple extramarital affairs.
In conclusion, the CSNL said, though it frowns on all violence against women, the group will not equally support any act of blackmail by any woman. The group then warned Lorraine “to immediately abandon her unwarranted shameless public outburst against Mr. Andrew Anderson, who is a decent and intelligent man”, and urged her to comply with the law, in acceptance of the consequences associated with damaging her marriage.
